Where is the race nearest to?
The start line is nearest to the town of Taylorsville. The very closest accommodations is the Taylorsville Campground which is actually ON the marathon course itself. DIRECTIONS TO THE CAMPGROUND: There is no specific address for the Taylorsville Campground. Simply follow Arlington Rd. until it meets Genesee Rd. The campground is on the right at the intersection. You can’t miss it!
How do I reserve a spot at the Taylorsville Campground?
The campground hosts will set aside a space for you. We know that many of you will be arriving late, Barbara, the camp tenant, will be available in her on site trailer in case you need any assistance. Simply send us a check made out to Mountain Circle for $14.00 per night, and make a note as per your camping mode (RV or Tent) and any special requests. We will pay for your site on your behalf and will post a paper plate with your name on it in front. Checks can be mailed to Alex at Mountain Circle P.O. Box 554 Greenville CA 95947. The campground allows one tent, one car, per site and dogs are OK.
If I stay in Quincy or Lake Almanor (Chester) but want to come to the 5:00 p.m. after party, can I hang at the finish line during the afternoon?
Absolutely! We have food, beer, music, even outdoor showers. Make yourself at home. We’ll give you a map to nearby swimming holes, or you can take a nap on the big lawn with the Race Directors.

Coppercreek Camp: Wahoo!! Coppercreek will once again be available to runners during the Bears weekend. Coppercreek is a 100-acre kids camp (out-of-session during the Bears weekend…) with rustic cabins, showers/bathrooms, and an outdoor kitchen/BBQ. The cost is $25 per person. The Hideaway Motel: (530) 284-7915 Address: 761 Hideaway Road, Greenville. A restful lodge five minutes from downtown Greenville. The Hideaway is small, secluded and very peaceful year-round.
The Oak Grove Motor Lodge: (530) 284-6671 Oak trees surround you in a quiet mountain setting. They offer cozy cabins with fully equipped kitchens. Our cabins all have knotty pine interiors and can sleep from one person to 8 people. HBO and WiFi are included.
The Quail Lodge: (9 miles North of Greenville in Canyon Dam). (530) 284-0861 Address: 29615 Highway 89, Canyon Dam. The Quail Lodge Lake Almanor offers Old-fashioned hospitality and Memorable vacations. Please let us know about your groups. Our expertise is arranging fishing and hunting adventures, along with golf retreats. We also have individual rooms only available. Quail Lodge is a rustic style lodge with cedar walls and beams. The floors are warm wood covered with decorative area rugs and fine leather furniture. The heavy rocked fireplace welcomes you upon arrival. The décor is a mountain lodge with fishing and hunting themed rooms.

Chester is 25 miles north of Greenville, closer to Mt. Lassen.

Taylorsville Community Campground (530) 283-6299 This is the closest campground to the start line. 100 sites, RV, tents, flush toilets, showers, piped water, dump station, pay phone, tennis court. You cannot reserve a site here but WE CAN!! Our volunteers will go out to the campground on Friday morning (August 16) and will get you a site for Friday and/or Saturday night. Simply send us a check made out to Mountain Circle for $14.00 per night, and make a note as per your camping mode (RV or Tent) and any special requests. Lake Almanor Camping (general listings)
Antelope Lake Camping: Lone Rock is the largest of three campgrounds in the Antelope Lake Recreation Area Offering both prime lake (lake front) and inland sites, with the longest sites being the lakefront sites. Lone Rock is located in the northwest corner of Antelope Lake. Shade is provided by both pine and fir trees. A general store, located at the campground entrance near the Area Amphitheatre, offers limited groceries, and fishing supplies. Lost Cove Boat Launch is a day use area located approximately 2 miles from the campground entrance. Click here for more information and to purchase a boat launch pass. There is a short trail to take you to Sunset Point. Interpretive programs are available at the amphitheater; check information boards for more information.
Lake Cove RV Resort: Phone: 530-284-7697 Facilities include upper/middle spots with full hookups, and lakeside or lakefront spots with electricity and water. 50amp or 30amp power spots available. With a 20-slip boat dock, beach access, recreation building, laundry, hot showers, and beautiful vistas of Mount Lassen, Lake Cove Resort is a fantastic getaway location.
Rocky Point Campground at Lake Almanor: (530) 284-1785 Breathtaking views of Lake Almanor and Mount Lassen can be seen from Rocky Point Campground, nestled among fragrant ponderosa pines in Plumas County, one of Northern California’s most scenic areas. A number of sites have been opened up for reservations, which can be booked with the secure and convenient online system.
North Shore Campground: (530) 258-3376 With over one mile of shoreline on Lake Almanor, North Shore Campground has everything you could imagine and more. Their peaceful and relaxing resort has over one mile of shoreline available with plenty of fun activities ready for your visit.
