Running with the Bears is so excited to introduce our 2019 Charity Runner Team!

Since, 1986 Mountain Circle has supported over 3,500 foster children and families in their journey to a healthier and happier future.

Building trusting relationships with these children, who may have lost faith in everyone who was supposed to keep them safe, is our mission. Our staff acts as role models and advocates for these displaced children.  The funds raised allow us to provide emotional support, financial assistance and some fun activities for these children whose lives have been severely disrupted.

Each year we are humbled and amazed by the level of support and enthusiasm our charity runners display.  By fundraising they are helping to change the lives of these incredible children and we cannot thank them enough for their support!

First, we would like to introduce, Monica Field!

1. What made you decide to be a Charity Runner?

My sister was doing it so I wanted to Join in!!!

2. Is this your first year being a Charity Runner for Running with the Bears?

Yes

3. Do you have any fundraising advice for other people who aren’t sure how to get started as a charity runner?

Just keep sharing on social media.

4. How did you find out about our race, and what made you sign up?

My sister was doing the race and I decided to come visit so I thought I would join her.

5. What kind of runner are you (are you in it for the adventure, the donations, or are you in it to win it)?

The adventure!

6.      If you had a message for the foster children that you’re fundraising for what would it be?

Be strong, be fierce, be an individual and stand out you are loved!

Up next, we would like to introduce, Alicia Lutsuk!

1. What made you decide to be a Charity Runner?

I was told to look for a race to run to stay in shape, googling marathons in Sacramento, CA I stumbled upon this event and fell in love with the goals, space, and the message it gives to children to never give up: while gathering money to help children get outside and have fun…. because life is about having fun!

2. Is this your first year being a Charity Runner for Running with the Bears?

Yes ma’am it is 🙂

3. Do you have any fundraising advice for other people who aren’t sure how to get started as a charity runner?

Just get out there, start talking to people and talk to them about advice, help, and your goals. The biggest thing is you’re getting outside to make a difference.

4. How did you find out about our race, and what made you sign up?

The fact that I get to run and help other people made a huge difference in my life’s purpose as it made me get up and gather money for someone else

5. What kind of runner are you (are you in it for the adventure, the donations, or are you in it to win it?

In it to win it, but I would like to donate my prize to other people. The experience of running itself is what drives me to be my best

6.      If you had a message for the foster children that you’re fundraising for what would it be?

Think with your heart, never give up, and always be nice. Never say anything if you have nothing nice to say, just smile and keep thinking positive thoughts! Your heart, dedication, and compassion is what will carry you through life. Be strong, stay strong, have hope, and give love everywhere you  go- with a smile !

From all of the volunteers, staff and foster families
of Mountain Circle Family Services,
THANK YOU!
