Running with the Bears is so excited to introduce our 2019 Charity Runner Team!

Since, 1986 Mountain Circle has supported over 3,500 foster children and families in their journey to a healthier and happier future.

Building trusting relationships with these children, who may have lost faith in everyone who was supposed to keep them safe, is our mission. Our staff acts as role models and advocates for these displaced children.  The funds raised allow us to provide emotional support, financial assistance and some fun activities for these children whose lives have been severely disrupted.

Each year we are humbled and amazed by the level of support and enthusiasm our charity runners display.  By fundraising they are helping to change the lives of these incredible children and we cannot thank them enough for their support!

First, we would like to introduce, Armando Lopez!

1. What made you decide to be a Charity Runner?

Simply the need for the funds to be raised. Help is needed so me and my wife stepped up.

2. Is this your first year being a Charity Runner for Running with the Bears?

 Yes!

3. Do you have any fundraising advice for other people who aren’t sure how to get started as a charity runner?

Not really. This is my first year trying to fund raise and I’m trying to figure it out myself.

4. How did you find out about our race, and what made you sign up?

My wife, Rachelle Lopez, has been wanting to run this race for many years. This year we finally are getting that chance.

5. What kind of runner are you (are you in it for the adventure, the donations, or are you in it to win it)?

I enjoy running obstacle course races. Not necessarily for speed but more for accomplishment. This is my second marathon and I plan to accomplish this one too.

6.      If you had a message for the foster children that you’re fundraising for what would it be?

You are bigger and more important than you think.

Up next, we would like to introduce, Brandy Johnson!

1. What made you decide to be a Charity Runner?

Adoption is the heart of my family, I wanted to help the children of Mountain Circle Family Services

2. Is this your first year being a Charity Runner for Running with the Bears?

This is my first year!

3. Do you have any fundraising advice for other people who aren’t sure how to get started as a charity runner?

I have raised $325 in my first week fundraising. This cause is so close to my heart, I’ve shared this with family and friends on Social Media. Friends have then shared my post with their friends and family. Social Media is a great tool for fundraising.

4. How did you find out about our race, and what made you sign up?

My family has a part time home in Taylorsville, I’ve wanted to join this race for a long time. I finally just did it!

5. What kind of runner are you (are you in it for the adventure, the donations, or are you in it to win it?

At first it was for the adventure, since I have started my fundraising…it’s become for the donations. I check my total several times a day. When I see that donation amount go up, it’s get me more pumped up to run for those kids!

6.      If you had a message for the foster children that you’re fundraising for what would it be?

You are loved, never lose hope, you will find your forever home.

Finally a big thank you to all of our Charity Runners!
