Introducing Aid Station #3….Plumas Bank!
The wonderful ladies from the Greenville branch of Plumas Bank are so creative and enthusiastic! They like to keep our runners guessing, and surprise them at the race, and boy do they do a good job of it!! Check out this YouTube video from their 2015 Station. Last year they put the real meaning of “aid” in their Aid Station, and wowed us all with an amazing M.A.S.H. 4077th themed aid station! If you ran the Running with the Bears half or full marathon with us last summer, at mile 5.5 you were cheered on by Hot Lips Houlihan and Radar O’Reilly, and even had the opportunity to join Hawkeye Pierce in the Swamp for a “Martini” Cup! And don’t forget their famous Peanut Butter Balls!
It’s no surprise that this aid station won TWO of the competition categories!! Best Theme and Best Snack awarded Plumas Bank with $2,000 in prize money, which they so generously donated right back into our community! Plumas Bank donated to 10 different organizations in Indian Valley, including the Boy Scouts, the American Legion Post 568, and the Greenville Cy Hall Memorial Museum!
We can hardly wait to see what they have in store for the Running with the Bears runners this year! Plumas Bank says, “We’re going to ‘ROCK’ this marathon!” They promise to provide their famous Peanut Butter Balls as well as some new surprise snacks! You can BANK on the fact that you’ll be well served and prepped for the remainder of your run at Aid Station #3! Don’t forget to look for the voting station at the end of the race!
